Why We Give
Giving at Mosaic
As followers of Jesus, we are encouraged to give financially to the church – both as an act of stewardship and an act of worship. We believe everything we have is God’s, and when we give, we are simply returning a portion back to Him. Following the examples given in Scripture, Mosaic asks its Volunteer Staff to commit to tithing to the church. The word tithe literally means ‘a tenth.’* We understand, though, that giving away 10% of your income can be a big and often frightening commitment. That’s why we’ve created the Three-Month Tithing Challenge.
Three-Month Tithing Challenge
If you don’t tithe or have never seriously considered giving to the church, we challenge you to try it for three months. During that time, we encourage you to do three things: (1) Take a risk and give 10% of your income as an offering to God, (2) Every time you give pause, pray, and thank God for all the resources He’s given you to give from, and (3) Take notes and observe what God shows you along the way. At the end of the challenge, tell us what you’ve learned and how God’s moved through your giving. We’re confident God will surprise you at just how easy and joyful regular giving can be in your life.
